Vintage Design
A large ashtray table produced by Rörstrand, Sweden, 1950s. Designed by Gunnar Nylund, (Swedish, 1914-1997). Signed by this highly collectible designer. In good condition, with no cracks or chips with the most beautiful multi coloured glaze. Nylund served as artistic director at Rörstrand, where he worked, 1931-1955. Prior to his work at Rörstrand he was a well-established ceramic artist in Denmark at Bing & Grøndahl, and later he founded ceramic workshop Saxbo, in partnership with Nathalie Krebs. Other ceramicists of the period include Axel Salto, Carl-Harry Stålhane, Wilhelm Kåge , Arne Bang and Stig Lindberg.
