1989 “Artist in Studio” Artist’s Proof Intaglio Print by Arnold Shives

An artist’s proof intaglio print by the Canadian artist Arnold Edward Shives (born 1943). Titled Artist in Studio, this abstract work depicts a man, possibly Shives himself, sitting in a studio with paper in hand and a painting on the wall. Signed and dated 1989 to the lower right, the print is displayed in a gold tone wooden frame and a cream mat. The print is also titled to the lower center and marked “A.P.” for artist’s proof to the lower left, as well as numbered III/III to the lower left.
