Spring awakening
Both the flower (Gol) and the nightingale (Bolbol) are important motifs in Middle Eastern literature and especially in the visual language of Middle Eastern poetry. The rose alone served as a literary metaphor for perfection and beauty and was able to represent the (secular or spiritual) lover or the prince, while the sweet singing nightingale could represent lovers or the poet. The flowers and nightingale are together the types of the lover and the lover par excellence; The flowers are beautiful, proud and often cruel (flowers can sometimes have thorns), while the nightingale constantly sings about their longing and devotion.
A ivory-colored reason with a polychrome naturalistic decor of birds and a variety of different flowers makes this attractive and strikingly individual “Gol o Bolbol-Flowers and Nighting Rale” carpet, which has a clear ISFAhan character both in the tonality and in design.
