Vintage Design
Stunning mid-century sommerso glass vase (Murano, Italy, 1960s). This very decorative vase is made of thick red, yellow and transparent glass. Height: 21 cm/8.3”; width (largest point): 9 cm/3.5”; depth (largest point): 6 cm/2.4”. Very good vintage condition. One production imperfection inside the glass (dark dot).
“Sommerso” is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which was very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is usually cased by a clear layer.
