Antique staved and turned wooden tobacco jar, period Napoleon III Biedermeier, circa 1850.
The circular tobacco jar has alternating vertical staves of wood of birch and mahogany and partially ebonised.
The top cover has a great baluster shaped finial.
The interior has a separate drop down lid, which fits below.
The interior is still complete with separate drop down lid which keeps the tobacco in place and keeps it from drying out.
